Bill Thomas - Managing Director
Bill, a chartered engineer, has been running Armstrong Lyon since 1972 and has a wealth of experience in not just Hydraulics but in all aspects of engineering. Bill is now taking on more of a consultative role and is hoping to spend a bit more time on the golf course.

Dave Thomas - General Manager
Dave started with Armstrong Lyon in 1984 in the accounts and administration department. He has worked in most areas of the company and now oversees the day-to-day operations.

Nigel Smith - Sales Manager
Nigel has been with Armstrong Lyon since 1980 and his expertise ranges from simple hand pump and cylinder systems right up to proportionally controlled hydraulic systems. There are not too many projects that Nigel cant tackle. Nigel, originally from the North East, still waits in hope for his beloved Newcastle to win the Premiership.

Alister Collins - Sales Engineer
Alister joined Armstrong Lyon in 2001 and is a hands-on sales engineer and doesnt mind getting dirty to get to the heart of a problem. Alister also has a vast knowledge of hydraulic systems and designs his own circuits using AutoCAD software.

Ken MacCluskey - Sales Engineer
Ken started at Armstrong Lyon straight from school in 1977 and completed a five year apprenticeship with the company. Over the years Ken has worked as a service engineer and was works supervisor before taking his latest role in sales. His practical experience is a great asset to customers whe specifying equipment. Ken likes to keep fit and has an active interest in wildlife conservation.

Shirley Carroll - Buyer
Shirley joined Armstrong Lyon in 1991 after careers at both the Post office and Lucas. Shirley is responsible for all aspects of purchasing goods and services for the company. If you are wanting parts, you can be sure that Shirley will make sure you get them as soon as is possible.

Peter Catterall - Production Manager
Peter came to Armstrong Lyon in 1987 and had worked in the hydraulics industry for many years. Peter is responsible for ensuring all workshop activities are delivered to the customer correctly and on time. He is also responsible for site service engineers and is your contact for requesting their services. Peter is a keen runner and has completed several marathons, including the London Marathon.

John Howarth - Senior Service Engineer
John joined Armstrong Lyon in 2001 and is the senior service engineer with the company. John has a vast wealth of knowledge and his trouble shooting abilities are second to none. John can tackle commissioning and fault finding on the most complicated hydraulic systems, including proportional and servo controlled. John is a member of the Long Distance Walkers Association and recently completed a 100 mile non-stop competition, finishing high up the field in a very impressive time.
