Quality Lifting Equipment

We have been a distributor of Tangye lifting equipment for over 40 years.
The history of Tangye’s involvement in all areas of engineering is on record as stretching back at least until 1856.
It was in 1856 that the great engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel built the massive “S.S. Great Eastern” which was until then the largest ship ever constructed, only to experience great difficulty in launching the vessel. It was the Tangye brothers who came to his aid and launched the vessel by providing powerful hydraulic jacks for the task. Hence the term “Tangye launched the Great Eastern and the Great Eastern launched Tangye”.
Tangye is renowned throughout the world for engineering expertise and quality. At the turn of the 20th Century Tangye was involved in all continents of the world, pioneering solutions for engineering projects.
Today the Tangye name is synonymous with Quality and Engineering expertise. The standard product range is very comprehensive but it is in the field of the “One off” or “Specials” that Tangye excels.
Tangye has the resource, expertise and engineering skills to design and manufacture to the customers own specification, quickly and efficiently.

Hydramite - Tangye Jacks
A range of lightweight jacks designed to lift, lower, manoeuvre and position heavy loads with maximum safety.
- Portable – Extensive user of high strength aluminium alloys has minimised jack weight for improved portability.
- Reliable – All moving parts are totally enclosed and lubricated by the hydraulic oil. Seats are highly resistant to deterioration under widely varying climatic conditions. Their long working life make Hydralite jacks the choice of many rental operations.
- Safe – Overload Protection – A high pressure relief valve prevents lifting of loads in excess of the jacks capacity while locking overloads applied to the ram
- Overstroke Protection – Hydralite jacks are fitted with a fail-safe positive stop mechanism which prevents overstroking of the ram by venting oil to the reservoir when the stroke limit is reached.
- Load Sustaining – Jack models incorporating a threaded ram and load retaining ring, model – SR, should be selected when loads are to be sustained for a significant time. No need to rely on hydraulic fluid pressure.
- Quality Assurance – Every jack is serial numbered, fully tested and certified.
- Wide range of capacities – from 20 tonnes to 100 tonnes with stroke options and claw and screwed ram features.
